He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” distinction, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and many others. He enjoyed time with family and friends, fishing, walking, slot machines, history, working on mechanical devices and wood working; as well as being an active member of the community, church, and food bank.
