Obituary for James E. Campbell Sr.

James Edward Campbell Sr. (Ed) passed away unexpectedly July 6th, 2017. Born in Richmond, Indiana on December 22, 1936, Ed continued living in Richmond, where he met his wife Marilyn, eventually moving to Washington state in 1966. He was a talented roller hockey player in his youth, an avid bowler for many years and participated in many other sports, including softball and water skiing. Hired by The Boeing Company, Ed was a gifted model maker until his departure for other endeavors after the SST project. He then retired from Jefferson Smurfit Corporation in 1996. Once retired he began employment with Sprinker Recreation Facility as a master skate sharpener, devoting his efforts to the ice skating profession. After 30 years of dedicated employment and volunteer service Ed retired from Sprinker at the age of 78. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn of 58 years in April, 2013 and his loving daughter Dana in March, 1982, Ed is survived by his nine children, Bev, Ed Jr (Linda), Tammy (Terry), Doug (Karen), Deena, Donna, Billy, Terri, and Dianna (Jay), 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on July 24 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. Services and interment to be conducted at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway, Washington at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
