Obituary for Sandra J. Hopson

Sandra Jo Hopson
May 31, 1956 – May 17, 2018

Sandra Hopson, a beloved child of God, loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband Ben Hopson, mother Eva Gordon, son Duane (Rebecca) Scharpf, daughter Nancy (Andy) Schroeder, grandchildren Maxine and Alexis Schroeder, and Michael, Jade and Kaitlyn Rusmuson, great-grandson Collin, and siblings Tony (Debbie) Kowalchuck, Douglas (Carrie) Gordon, Joella (Larry) Graves, and Carla Gordon, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Sandy was a loving and caring person who was adored by her grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to connect with and touch every person she met. She belonged to the fellowship at Peninsula Lutheran Church. True to her nature, she participated for many years in the Care Team Ministry.
Sandy was a wizard with numbers. She worked for many years as an accountant and comptroller. She ended her career as a successful self-employed business woman. Her company was named Efficient Business Services.
Sandy enjoyed an active life. She ran track and cross country and played softball. She was a gardener and loved camping. Even while sitting, she kept her hands and mind busy with reading a book or crocheting. Her crochet works are true masterpieces, ranging from doilies, purses, and clothing, to her daughter’s wedding veil. She could crochet with her eyes closed. Most anyone who knew Sandy has one of her crochet works.
Memorial Services will be held on June 6, 2018. Graveside service will be at 10am at Fir Lane Memorial Park, Spanaway. Memorial Service and reception will be held at 12pm at Peninsula Lutheran Church, Gig Harbor.
