Obituary for Keiko Brackin

Keiko "Kay" Brackin Age 84, of Spanaway, passed away peacefully June 2nd while surrounded by her two daughters and three beloved grandchildren. Kay was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a fierce friend. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters Lisa Brackin of Auburn and Karen (Jose) Cables of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Riley Johnson of Auburn, and Ryan and Marina Cables of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, three brothers, several nieces and nephews in Japan, and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Buddy, her parents, and three brothers. Kay was born in Japan as the second child and older daughter of eight children. In 1958 she married Elmer "Buddy" Brackin, who took his city girl to Oklahoma just two months after marrying. With the Army, they also lived in Texas, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Japan, and twice at Ft. Lewis, retiring in Spanaway. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 20, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady Queen Heaven Catholic Church, 14601 A Street S., Tacoma, WA 98444. Interment will follow after mass at Fir Lane Memorial Park, 924 East 176th Street, Spanaway, WA 98387. Family and friends kindly invited.
