She grew up in a time of World war, remembering practicing bomb drills in school, she remembered watching the U.S. warplanes drop munitions on Japanese soil. The Army took Jeff and Sachiko to Kaiserslautern, Germany for four years. While there, Sachiko visited many countries and enjoyed the different types of cultures. Next, the Army sent them to Alabama for a year. Sachiko visited Mississippi often while living in Alabama. Jeff got orders for Fort Lewis, WA, and the family moved to Lakewood, WA. The Army then sent Jeff to Vietnam for a one year tour. The family moved to Parkland, WA, where she lived for 49 years. Sachiko enjoyed cooking for people, she always had a plate ready for any visitors, she was often seen shopping at Macy's (The Bon Marche), and enjoyed gardening. She was a generous and kind soul, always putting others over herself. Sachiko was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff who died in 1990. She is survived by Joann Winnie, Maryann Calcote, and Patrick Calcote.
